Hitec Laboratories Limited are a market leader in the development, implementation and support of enterprise wide Electronic Document& Compliance Management Solutions. Operating in a highly specialised market, their suite of applications are complex in nature and as such require careful and highly structured explanations. A key aspect of the brief was to bring clarity, hierarchical simplicity and navigational efficiency to the website design. With such a text-heavy site it was imperative that the underlying structures should provide for a clean, ordered layout. The right-hand column features an expanding menu system that opens and closes each sub-menu option with a single click. At the same time the non-critical javascript routine that controls the menu operation fails gracefully in the open position (in the event that visitors may have disabled javascript in the browser) so that all menu options are completely accessible. The menu system validates to W3C standards and is completely accessible to screen readers.
